H&K Cinema recently partnered with Cross Custom Homes, a custom home builder based in Weatherford, Texas, to create a brand film built around their story, their team, and the experience of building a home in the Fort Worth and North Texas market. The production included founder interviews, designer interviews, active jobsite footage, completed home cinematography, homeowner testimonials, and aerial drone footage of a finished custom home.
For builders, architects, designers, and construction companies around Fort Worth, Weatherford, Aledo, Parker County, and North Texas, a brand film has to do more than show pretty finished spaces. It needs to help future clients understand the process, the communication style, the craftsmanship, and the people they will be trusting with a major investment.

As a Fort Worth Videographer, one of my favorite types of projects is helping businesses communicate who they are and why they do what they do. Whether we’re producing brand films, testimonials, or documenting live events, every project requires a unique storytelling approach. In a previous article, I discussed some of the factors that make hiring a videographer in Fort Worth different from other markets throughout Texas.
Building the Story Around Multiple Perspectives
For this brand film, we wanted the story to feel personal, authentic, and complete. Rather than relying on a single spokesperson, we built the film around three different perspectives.
Founder Logan Cross provided the company’s vision, values, and philosophy. The designer explained the planning, details, and creative decisions that shape each home. The homeowners shared what the experience felt like from the client side after going through the full building process.
Combining these viewpoints allowed the final film to tell a more complete story from start to finish.

What Makes a Strong Brand Film for a Custom Home Builder?
A custom home builder brand film needs to show more than the final result. Beautiful interiors, drone shots, and finished exterior footage are important, but the real value comes from helping a potential client understand what the building experience will feel like before they ever schedule a consultation.
For a Fort Worth or Weatherford custom home builder, the strongest brand films usually include:
A founder or owner interview that explains the company’s values and process
Footage of the team planning, reviewing designs, or walking through active projects
Jobsite footage that shows the home before it is finished
Finished home footage that highlights craftsmanship and design details
Homeowner testimonials that explain the experience from the client’s perspective
Drone footage that shows the property, land, and surrounding North Texas setting
For Cross Custom Homes, we built the film around all of these pieces. Instead of only showing completed homes, the story followed the company from office planning to active construction to finished spaces and homeowner experience.
Starting at the Cross Custom Homes Office
Production began at the Cross Custom Homes office in Weatherford, Texas.
The first part of the day focused on a multicamera interview with Logan Cross. Through a series of guided questions, we explored the company’s history, approach to communication, and what separates their custom home building process from other builders.
These interviews serve as the foundation of many commercial video production projects. Instead of relying on scripted dialogue, the goal is to capture honest sound bites that allow the story to unfold naturally.
After the interview, we filmed the team gathered around their large community workspace, collaborating on projects, discussing plans, and working together. These moments helped illustrate the culture and teamwork that drive every project from concept to completion.

Capturing the Design and Building Process
From the office, we traveled to an active construction site where we filmed another multicamera interview with the designer.
The unfinished home provided the perfect backdrop to discuss the planning, design decisions, and attention to detail that go into every Cross Custom Homes project. We also captured footage of the team reviewing blueprints, walking up to the jobsite, and discussing progress on-site.
One of the unique aspects of this project was filming homes in multiple stages of completion. Capturing both active construction sites and finished homes allowed viewers to see the process behind the final product. By combining blueprint reviews, jobsite walkthroughs, completed interiors, and homeowner testimonials, the final film gives a more complete picture of how Cross Custom Homes brings a project from concept to reality.

Showcasing a Completed Custom Home
Later in the day, we moved to one of Cross Custom Homes’ completed projects.
The focus here was capturing cinematic footage of the finished home while highlighting the craftsmanship and design elements that make each project unique. From architectural details to thoughtfully designed living spaces, every shot was captured with the goal of supporting the larger story being told throughout the film.
We also recorded an additional multicamera interview with the designer, allowing her to explain what she does, the vision behind the home, and the details that help shape the finished result.

Hearing Directly From the Homeowners
The following day, we met with one of Cross Custom Homes’ homeowners to capture the final piece of the story.
Using a multicamera interview setup, the couple shared their experience working with Cross Custom Homes and discussed what the process was like from start to finish. These testimonials often become some of the most impactful moments in a brand film because they provide an authentic perspective from the people who have lived through the experience themselves.
Following the interview, we captured lifestyle footage of the couple enjoying their home and spending time together in the spaces they helped create.
To conclude the production, we captured clean aerial drone footage of the property, providing a final perspective of the home and surrounding landscape.

Why Brand Films Matter
For custom home builders, remodelers, architects, interior designers, and construction companies, video can help explain the parts of the process that photos alone cannot show. A finished portfolio shows the work, but a brand film helps potential clients understand how the company communicates, how decisions are made, what the team values, and what the experience feels like from the homeowner’s side.
That was the goal with the Cross Custom Homes brand film. By combining Logan’s interview, the designer’s perspective, jobsite footage, completed home footage, and a homeowner testimonial, the final film gave future clients a clearer picture of the company behind the homes.
H&K Cinema produces brand films, interview-driven videos, testimonial videos, drone footage, and commercial video production for businesses throughout Fort Worth, Weatherford, Parker County, Dallas, and the surrounding North Texas area. For home builders and design-focused companies, our goal is to create films that feel cinematic, personal, and useful for websites, sales presentations, social media, and long-term brand marketing.
