As a Dallas wedding videographer, fusion weddings are some of the most rewarding—and technically demanding—days we get to document. Arun and Brycen’s Indian–Western fusion wedding in the Dallas Arts District was a perfect example of how thoughtful planning, cultural traditions, and experienced video coverage come together to create a timeless film.

From a high-energy sangeet parade outside the hotel to an elegant ceremony at the historic Scottish Rite, this wedding day required flexibility, precision, and a deep understanding of how to capture multiple events seamlessly without disrupting the flow of the day.

Wedding Vendor Team for Arun + Brycen’s Dallas Fusion Wedding

Arun and Brycen’s wedding was brought together by an exceptional creative team, led by As You Wish (planned by Katie Pagel). From managing a complex, multi-location timeline to seamlessly blending Indian and Western traditions, the planning team played a key role in keeping the day flowing effortlessly.

Photography coverage was provided by internationally renowned wedding photographer Jerry Ghionis, whose ability to direct and capture moments with intention complemented our documentary-style video approach perfectly.

The reception was brought to life by Jordan Kahn Music Company keeping the energy high from first dances through the final moments on the dance floor.

Working alongside an experienced vendor team allows each creative partner to focus fully on their craft, resulting in a wedding day that feels elevated, intentional, and effortless for the couple and their guests.

Getting Ready at the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District

The day began with both Arun and Brycen getting ready in their suites at the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District. This portion of the day allowed us to capture quieter, intimate moments—details, candid interactions, and anticipation before the celebrations began.

We documented:

  • Groom prep and attire details

  • Emotional moments with friends and family

  • Natural, documentary-style coverage without forced posing

These moments set the tone for the final film and help ground the story emotionally before the pace of the day picks up.

Sangeet Parade & Baraat Outside the Hotel

One of the most energetic moments of the day was the sangeet parade out front of the JW Marriott. Arun’s procession brought music, movement, and excitement right into the heart of downtown Dallas.

To capture this properly, we used:

  • Gimbal-based moving shots to stay immersed in the crowd

  • Drone footage to establish scale and location

  • Handheld coverage for authentic, close-up reactions

This combination allows the final film to feel cinematic while still preserving the raw energy of the moment.

Indian Ceremony in the JW Marriott Ballroom

The Indian ceremony took place inside the JW Marriott ballroom and was covered using a multicam setup. Fusion weddings often involve longer ceremonial moments, so clean coverage and audio clarity are essential.

Our approach included:

  • Multiple locked-off tripod cameras

  • A roaming camera for reactions and detail shots

  • Careful framing to respect cultural traditions

This ensures the ceremony is documented fully while still feeling dynamic in the edit.

Western Ceremony at the Scottish Rite of Dallas

Following the Indian ceremony, we traveled to the iconic Scottish Rite Cathedral for the Western ceremony.

Before the ceremony, we captured:

  • Wedding party coverage

  • Portraits of Arun and Brycen in their suites

  • Architectural establishing shots of the venue

The ceremony itself was covered by three videographers with multiple tripod cameras to ensure redundancy, clean angles, and uninterrupted coverage.

After the ceremony, we stepped outside for portraits of just the couple, using the front of the Scottish Rite as a dramatic and timeless backdrop.

Reception Coverage Back at the JW Marriott

Returning to the hotel, we captured detailed shots of the beautifully designed ballroom before guests arrived. These details help anchor the reception portion of the film and showcase the full experience of the day.

Cocktail hour was shot run-and-gun, allowing us to move freely and capture natural interactions without interrupting guests.

For the reception events:

  • Multicam coverage for first dances and formal moments

  • Handheld rigs once the dance floor opened

  • Immersive dance-floor coverage with guests and the couple

Once the party began, we stayed right in the action—capturing high-energy moments while subtly curating space when needed to get the best shots without breaking the flow.

Grand Exit & Final Cinematic Touches

The evening concluded with a coordinated grand exit, captured by two videographers on gimbals to ensure smooth, cinematic movement from multiple angles.

After the celebration, we returned to capture timelapse footage of the venue, adding a final cinematic layer to the film and helping visually bookend the story of the day.

  • Cultural awareness and respect

  • A calm, adaptable approach

As a Dallas wedding videographer, our goal is always to support the day—not control it—while ensuring nothing meaningful is missed.
